Keep Safe Charter

We are delighted to be welcoming guests back to Hazelwood Lodge again. We hope you are looking forward to your stay, and we are looking forward to making your stay, safe and an enjoyable one for you.

We are a team of three here at Hazelwood Lodge, Victor, Geraldine & Lesley Mc Sweeney and we intend to make your stay as safe and least intrusive as possible. We have been living here throughout the pandemic and employ no other staff at Hazelwood.

Over the last few weeks the team here have talked through all the scenarios and interactions that we normally have with our guests, just to make sure that we can provide you with a warm welcome, a relaxing break and a great experience of Ballyvaughan and the Burren area of Co Clare. While being as responsible as we can and keeping everybody safe. We’re asking you to trust us and the systems we have put in place, but we must work together, so we also need to ask you to be responsible and work with us in this regard. We don’t want to make your stay fraught with stringent rules and regulations that are unworkable and that will make everybody uneasy. We don’t want you to end up needing a holiday after your holiday! We will of course be working within all the guidelines that have been mandated by Fáilte Ireland and the HSE so the industry can re-open, however not every scenario is covered and there will be times that we will need to work together and use our common sense is necessary for the sanity and wellbeing of all of us.

We have completed online training with Failte Ireland and have attained their Covid-19 Safety Charter certification.

These are the areas where we have best practice to help keep us all safe

The entire hotel and every single touchpoint will be cleaned & sanitised as is necessary. Your bedroom/and throughout all of the house will be cleaned thoroughly, sanitised before your stay. Your table/menu/cutlery/condiments and every single item you will handle during your meal will be sanitised before and after use.

Social Distancing
We ask you to please adhere to social distancing during your stay at Hazelwood, and to keep two metres where possible or least one metre apart from staff and other guests not in your party.  We have placed signage throughout Hazelwood to help our guests make the most of the space.

Cough & Sneeze Etiquette
We all know the drill at this stage. But just to be sure…..cough, sneeze or even breathe into your elbow!

Feeling Unwell with Covid 19 Symptoms
If you feel unwell, isolate yourself and other guests who may be with you, and let us know. We will contact our local medical centre for further instructions. Please be assured we have a very clear procedure for isolation and reporting and we are trained fully in this procedure.

Facemasks
We will endeavour to adhere to social distancing in every interaction with our guests but there may be very brief times when we are closer than one metre e.g. while we are bringing food or drinks to your table.  If you would like any of us to wear a facemask at any stage please let us know and we would be only too happy to oblige.  If you would like a facemask for yourself at any stage during your stay, please ask us and we will provide.

Check-in/Check-out
Check-in for Hazelwood is from 3pm, an earlier check-in is possible if we are notified in advance. We request that one member from each party enters and await for a team member to arrive at entrance to meet & greet you, we can then all proceed with luggage to your bedroom.

Bedrooms
Bedrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before your stay at Hazelwood, they will not be serviced daily.    All of our staff have been thoroughly re-trained and equipped with PPE.  To adhere to guidelines, we’ve had to remove some of the items in bedrooms such as books, bathrobes, and other various in-room literature. If you would like to have any of these items put back into your room during your stay please let us know. There are extra pillows in a sealed bag in the wardrobe and there is a bottle of still water in the fridge with fresh dairy milk.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am. There will be no usual breakfast buffet at Hazelwood.  Breakfasts are available to order a la carte style from the menu, and served from the kitchen.  All our breakfast tables are spaced 1 metre apart however guests are advised that peak times are from 9.30am, and if you would like a quieter breakfast with fewer people in the dining room, we would advise you to plan your breakfast for earlier. Breakfast can also be served outside in the garden, weather dependant.  Tables will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.
